  • POSITION TITLE: Literacy Tutor – Minnesota Reading Corps

    Make a difference in your community and join our team as a reading tutor. <<Site Name>> is looking for reading tutors to give their time and talent to help our kids become successful readers and learners.

    Tutors work one-on-one or in small groups with students during school hours throughout the school year. No matter if you’re a recent grad, career changer, stay-at-home parent or retiree, you can make a great tutor. No experience? No problem. Minnesota Reading Corps provides comprehensive training in strategies proven to help students learn, so tutors are well equipped to help students grow.

    Perks as A Tutor

    • Receive a stipend every two weeks
    • Earn up to $4,200 for college tuition or student loans. Tutors 55 and older may gift the award to their child, grandchild, stepchild or foster child.

  • Renville County West School is now accepting enrollment applications for the Kindergarten class which will begin in August 2019. Children who will be five (5) years old on or before September 1, 2019 are eligible to begin Kindergarten in the fall of 2019. If you would like to register your child, please contact Krista at kschrupp@rcw.k12.mn.us or 320-329-8362 ext. 1301.

    Kindergarten Round Up is scheduled for Tuesday April 16th from 5:00pm – 6:30pm.

    Renville County West School is now accepting enrollment applications for Preschool classes which will begin in August 2019. Children who will be four (4) years old on or before September 1, 2019 are eligible to enroll in the Skills for School class. Children who will be three (3) years old on or before September 1, 2019 are eligible to enroll in the Bright Beginnings class.  If you would like to register your child, please contact Krista at kschrupp@rcw.k12.mn.us or 320-329-8362 ext. 1301.

    This year the weekly bulletin is is sent out via email for grades 1-12. Pre-K and Kindergarten get hard copies each week. In the bulletin you will see the events for the week, lunch menu, important dates and contact information.   • Code Blue - All Students are to be kept in their classroooms with the doors LOCKED until further notification. Code Blue represents NO danger to students or staff members. 

    Intruder Drill - Initially all students are to be kept in their classrooms with doors LOCKED. 
    (A - Alert, L - Lock, I - Inform, C - Counter, E - Evacuate) Use judgement to follow ALICE procedures based on training and announcements. 

    Evacuation - Evacuate the building. Do not go to lockers or gather belongings. Leave room as is. Go directly to your designated area.

    Fire Drills - Will be announced. If alarm goes off without announcement, remain in classroom until you hear an announcement. If you smell or see smoke, evacuate immediately.

  •  2018-19 Early Childhood Screening

    Early Childhood Screening is a quick and simple check to see of how your child is growing and developing. Between the ages of 3 and 5, screening can detect possible health or learning concerns, so that children can get help before they start school. In order for your child to start kindergarten in any Minnesota public school your child needs to go through Early Childhood Screening.
