As the school social worker at Renville County West High School, I work collaboratively with school staff, teachers, administrators, and community providers in an effort to help students overcome barriers to achievement.
Some important parts of my job include: providing social skills training, counseling, problem-solving, crisis prevention and intervention with students and small groups; making referrals to services, including our school-based providers (Woodland Centers); identifying and reporting child abuse and neglect; assisting with the Back-the-Pack food program and helping provide hygiene supplies, winter gear and school supplies to students who need them.
I enjoy helping students with college and career readiness activities including field trips through the Yellow Medicine Integration Collaborative (YMIC).
I am the adviser of Teens Against Destructive Actions (TADA) and National Honor Society (NHS).
I encourage parents to contact me with any concerns. I am here to help your student learn, grow, and excel.
I have been working in Renville County West since 2017. My goal is to help students feel nurtured, safe and supported while at school.
Some of you may be wondering, I go by both Mrs. Frank and Mrs. Masters-Frank. I think it would be easier for students can call me Mrs. Frank!
Outside of school, I live with my husband, Duane and five children on a farmsite near Renville. We enjoy country life with our two dogs, chickens and cats!
